چکیده
We describe an unexpected complication in a 46-years-old man affected by ischemic cardiomyopathy who received prolonged mechanical cardiac support means of right transaxillary Impella 5.0. The postoperative course was complicated recurrent septicemia from multi-durg resistant Acinetobacter baumanii. He underwent implantation venoarterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation because refractory arrest, followed removal that has been embolic stroke. likely source the embolus large thrombus inside innominate artery. After long-standing device implantation, particularly patients with intercurrent septic episodes, CT angiographic scan should be planned to exclude arterial thrombosis before transarterial device.
